What is the Vietnam visa requirement for Mexican citizens?

To avoid delays or rejection when applying for your Vietnam e-visa, please make sure you have the following:

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Vietnam or at least 1 month beyond your planned exit date and contain at least one blank page for visa stamping;
  • Scan copy of passport: Provide a clear, full-page scan of the passport data page (bio page) showing all details clearly, including your photo, personal information, and passport number;
  • Recent portrait photo: A passport-sized photo taken within the last 6 months on a plain light background. The photo must clearly show your full face, with no hats or glasses obscuring your facial features. It is not allowed to crop a portrait photo from the scanned copy of a passport and use it in the visa application;
  • Trip information: Include the intended entry and exit dates, port of entry and exit and the address of your planned accommodation in Vietnam.
  • Personal information: You must provide your current residential address and an active telephone number in your home country. Additionally, include the name, relationship, address, and contact number of a person to be reached in case of emergency;
  • Working email: An active email address for application status updates and visa delivery.
  • Valid payment method: A credit or debit card that supports international online payments for the visa fee.

The application process is straightforward; however, it is important to keep in mind several key points to avoid delays or having your application stuck “in processing” at the last minute:

1. Review your visa application

Check your visa application carefully to ensure all information exactly matches your passport. Even minor errors may result in your application being returned for amendment, which can delay processing and leave your visa stuck in ‘in processing’ status as your travel date approaches.

2. Provide the accurate and truthful information

All visa information must be accurate, including your personal details, contact information, occupation, and trip details. Submitting incorrect information may cause delays in processing or even lead to visa denial.

Under normal circumstances, a Vietnam visa is processed within 3 – 5 working days. If the process takes longer, it typically indicates that your application requires additional verification by the Vietnam Immigration Department. If your travel time is not approaching, you may simply wait for the standard processing to be completed. However, if your departure is urgent, you will need to use an expedited service, which can process the visa within 1–2 working days or as quickly as 2–4 working hours.

3. Children need their own visa

If you are travelling with your children under 14 years old, make sure they have a valid visa. Children with their own passports must apply for a separate visa and should not be included in the parents’ visa application.

4. Applicants cannot apply for a new visa while they are inside Vietnam

If your visa is about to expire, you must leave Vietnam and submit a new visa application from abroad. Applications filed while you are still inside Vietnam will not be accepted and will be denied.

Estimated e-visa processing time

An e-visa is typically issued within five working days. This standard processing timeframe applies only to applications that are complete, accurate, and fully paid. Weekends and public holidays are excluded from the processing period. Actual processing times may vary depending on application volume and case-specific circumstances. Applicants are therefore advised to plan ahead to ensure the timely receipt of a Vietnam e-visa.

How to speed up an existing Vietnam visa application?

If you have already applied for a Vietnam visa and the application status remains “processing” after 3-5 days, you may think your visa application requires further verification by the Vietnam Immigration Department. Sometimes, if your visa application contains incorrect data or photos, you may receive a request from the Vietnam Immigration Department to amend the application, which will also extend the processing time. In this case, we can expedite your current visa application to ensure you receive your visa on time. Here are the simple steps to speed up your visa application:

1

Go online the visa application form and select “Apply for e-visa” “Yes, I have applied for e-visa and I would like to speed up the process” then click “Next”;

2

Fill in the visa application with required information, visa registration code, email and upload the photo of your passport and portrait photo taken at present;

3

Pay the speed-up service fee and wait for visa approval after a few hours or 1-2 working days, as you selected;

4

A completed visa will be sent to your email or WhatsApp within the ordered processing time. You just need to print out the visa, bring it with your passport, and enter Vietnam via airports, land ports and seaports.
Notice: You must ensure your visa information is correct or has been amended correctly, as we can only speed up the process, but cannot edit the data. If you are unsure of the correctness, you should select a rush visa application to start a new one from the beginning.

Both the rush visa service (for a new e-visa application) and the speed-up visa service (for an existing e-visa application) will help you get your visa processed on time without changing your flight or cancelling your trip to Vietnam. The speed-up visa service saves 25 USD, but you must ensure every detail in your visa application is correct; otherwise, the rush visa service guarantees a perfect visa.
