Vietnam visa for Wallis and Futuna travellers – How to speed up the process?
As of the time this article is written, all citizens of Wallis and Futuna are required to apply for a visa to enter Vietnam for purposes of tourism, business, working, or visiting relatives. Typically, a visa for Wallis and Futuna travellers takes about 3–5 days to be processed. Sometimes it takes longer if it needs further verification by the Vietnam Immigration Department.
The issues that travellers may encounter when applying for a Vietnam visa
Below are some cases where Wallis and Futuna travellers encounter issues when applying for a visa to Vietnam:
– The travellers completely forget to apply for the visa until the very last minute, just before boarding the flight, they realise that a visa is required to enter Vietnam;
– The travellers are aware that a visa is required to enter Vietnam, and they have already applied for one; however, after several amendments, the visa application is still “in processing” as their flight departure approaches;
– The travellers have applied for and received a visa for Vietnam; however, the visa contains incorrect information (such as full name, passport number, date of birth, passport expiry date, or entry date…), preventing them from boarding the plane;
Some travellers mistakenly believe they can obtain a visa on arrival at a Vietnamese airport without preparing any documents in advance. This misconception can lead to serious problems: passengers cannot board the plane without a pre-arranged visa approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, and as a result, they will NOT be able to enter Vietnam.
