Vietnam visa on arrival
Visa on arrival (visa picked up at arrival airport in Vietnam) is an option to get a visa for Vietnam. It is beneficial for those who did not apply for a Vietnam e-visa before departure, or those who have a problem with the e-visa, they don’t have time to fix it. Visa on arrival will go with an approval letter issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, and it is applicable for the entry via airports only.
Who is eligible for a Vietnam visa on arrival?
Vietnam visa on arrival is available for foreigners who travel to Vietnam by air. In order to apply for a visa on arrival, the travellers must have a valid passport with a validity of at least 6 months.
The travellers also need to prepare the stamping fee of 25 USD (for single entry visa) or 50 USD (for multiple entry visa) in cash and a passport-sized photo to submit at the visa counter at the arrival airport.
A printed visa approval letter is required to get on the plane and pick up a visa stamp at the arrival airport.
How long does it take to complete a visa on arrival?
Typically, it will take 3 – 5 working days to complete a visa approval letter; however, in a rush situation, a visa approval letter can be done within 4 working hours or 1 working day. Unlike an e-visa, you don’t have to apply for a rush visa on arrival on the previous days.
How a visa approval letter look like?
A visa approval letter is a document issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department in a PDF file, which identifies the visa holder’s name, date of birth, passport number, visa validity and number of entries (single or multiple). Please see a sample of a visa approval letter below:
A visa approval letter normally contains name of visa agency, name of travelers, nationality, passport number, date of birth; visa purpose, visa duration, visa type (single or multiple entry) and the name of the Vietnam Immigration Department authority who signs the letter with digital signature stamp.
How to apply for a visa on arrival?
In order to apply for a visa on arrival, you just follow the simple steps below:
Complete the visa application form with required information; upload the photo of passport, select the appropriate processing time and submit;
Make a payment for the visa processing fee;
After the period of time you have registered for the service with us (2 working days, 1 working day, 4 working hours or 2 working hours) you will receive a visa approval letter. You will prepare a printed visa approval letter, the stamping fee 25 – 50 USD in cash and a passport photo 4×6;
Upon arrival airport you will present your passport, printed visa approval letter, photo and pay the stamping fee at the visa counter. The immigration officers will give you a visa stamp in a few minutes that you can enter Vietnam;
