Vietnam visa exemption for Mongolian citizens

Vietnam visa exemption for Mongolian citizens

From 15 August 2025, Mongolian citizens will be exempt from obtaining a Vietnam visa if they stay in the country for less than 30 days, along with other Vietnam visa free nationals. Under this policy, citizens of Mongolia can enjoy visa-free travel to Vietnam provided they meet the following conditions:

  • Hold a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
  • Have at least two blank pages in the passport for entry and exit stamps.
  • Be prepared to present proof of an onward or return flight ticket upon entry into Vietnam.
  • Not be subject to any conditions or restrictions under Vietnamese law that prohibit entry.

What happens if the Mongolian citizens are holding a passport with less than 6 months’ validity?

If Mongolian citizens hold a passport with less than 6 months’ validity, they must apply for a visa to enter Vietnam. In particular, if the passport has less than 1 month’s validity from the date of exit or fewer than two blank pages for visa stamps, they must renew their passport before travelling.
