What happens if the Algerian citizens arrive in Vietnam without a visa?
Algerian citizens are generally required to obtain a visa to enter Vietnam. If they arrive at a Vietnamese border without a visa, they will be denied entry, face potential deportation, and incur significant travel expenses at their own cost.
The specific outcomes and official policies for Algerian travelers entering Vietnam without a visa include:
Boarding denial
Airlines strictly enforce Vietnam’s entry requirements. If a Algerian citizen attempts to check in for a flight to Vietnam without an approved visa, the airline staff will prevent them from boarding the aircraft.
Refusal of entry at the border
If an Algerian traveler somehow reaches a Vietnamese airport or land border without a valid visa, immigration officers will deny entry. They will be placed in a holding area or transit zone and be forced to purchase a return ticket to their departure country at their own expense.
Note: If the Algerian citizens contact us at least 1 hour before landing at Vietnam airport, we can still help them get a valid Vietnam entry visa in time.
Deportation and blacklisting
In severe cases, such as attempting to bypass border controls, Algerian travelers may face immediate deportation, detention, and a potential entry ban to Vietnam for the incoming trips.
Phu Quoc Island entry exception
There is an exception that the Algerian citizens can visit Phu Quoc Island for up to 30 days without a visa. However, to qualify for this exemption, they must:
- Arrive directly at Phu Quoc International Airport (e.g., from an international connecting hub) or by sea.
- Hold a valid return flight ticket or onward travel ticket to another country from Phu Quoc Island, without visiting the Vietnam mainland.
- Note: Traveling from mainland Vietnam to Phu Quoc still requires clearing domestic checkpoints and is generally not allowed without a Vietnam mainland entry visa.
